Eberspacher Changeover Kit from 12-volt Airtronic D2 to 12-volt S3 D2L
The simplest way to replace a Mk1/AX1 Airtronic D2 with the current AX3 Airtronic S3 D2L. The kit comprises of a new 12-volt S3 D2L heater body, a new 12-volt fuel metering pump, a fuel pump electrical adaption loom and an AX1 to AX2/AX3 electrical adaptor loom. This kit allows for the fitment of an AX3 heater as a replacement for a 25.2069.05.0000 Mk1/AX1 Airtronic D2, while retaining all the original pre-installed ancillaries, including the controller.
The clip-on 60mm warm air outlet hood from the original AX1 heater will need to be reused on the replacement AX3 heater. If this is missing, part number 22.1000.01.0016 will need to be ordered separately.
If replacement is to be carried out on a boat. Care should be taken to ensure the existing exhaust is gastight. It is recommended that an Eberspacher exhaust should be replaced after ten years. Common marine exhausts, to be ordered separately are 29.2199.00.7244 and 29.2199.01.4506. Email if a non-standard marine exhaust is required.
If the original Mk1/AX1 Airtronic D2 had a diagnostic control, fault finding at the controller will be lost with this kit. It is possible to use an EasyStart Pro as a diagnostic tool if required, to be ordered separately 22.1000.35.2200 . Diagnostics utilising workshops with D2H, KD2000, EDiTH or EasyScan will remain possible.
